Lions and Tigers and Bears - oh my!! This was a really exciting day! When my 'cousins' were visiting, we went to the Zoo! I've never been to the zoo before, so it was really neat to see animals up close that i've only seen on TV or in a book. There were so many beautiful animals - but I didn't see a single horse!

This is me by the flamingoes. They are really funny birds - at first I thought many of them only had one leg! They are a really bright pink color, too.

This was great - instead of walking, I got to ride in the wagon! That was a nice treat!

I have never seen a real elephant before, so that was neat. They are really big! These are not the real elephants, though - the zoo has many beautiful fountains, and this was one of them. I tried to stay out of the water. |

Me and my 'cousin' Nate. He liked to carry me a lot. Which was ok ... except when he grabbed my bandana. Ouch! |

My 'cousin' Maria took me on one of the rides with her. This was an elephant ride! Hi Mom! We went really fast, too.

Wow! Look at the jaguar! We were REALLY close to it, and I was kind of nervous. I don't know if jaguars like horses or not.

Oh dear, the jaguar was growling. I think it was hungry. I tried to get away, but Sam has a very strong grip. We were ok, though, the jaguar stayed behind the glass.

This is me by the 'Aztec sculpture'. There is a lot of really pretty art at the zoo. I really liked riding in the wagon, though.

Lunchtime! We had a nice picnic lunch at the Cypress Cafe in the zoo. The day was beautiful and there were not many bugs, so we could enjoy our sandwiches while watching the wildlife. I was busy watching the alligators - I've never been that close to an alligator and it made me a bit nervous. We even got to listen to Zydeco music while we ate!

Giraffes! I like giraffes ... they are really tall and pretty. And they don't eat horses. I think a giraffe would make a nice pet, don't you?

Ha ha! Here I am 'monkeying around' with a new friend! This was really funny.

Me and my 'cousin' sat with the monkeys. The little monkey was naughty, though - it had someone's shoe!

Here we are sitting in the shady area on 'Monkey Hill'. This was a restful spot with a very pretty waterfall. We enjoyed sitting here very much, it was a nice place to rest after a long day of walking.

Rhinos! I think this is the closest I've ever been to a rhino! I couldn't believe how big they were - wow! They look like dinosaurs.

This is the end of our day. All my 'cousins' posed for this photo on a scary dinosaur. They weren't scared, though. Look at my 'uncle' - he's got his head in the dinosaur's mouth!

There wasn't room for me in the other photo, so my nice 'cousin' sat with me on the scary dinosaur. It's not so scary when you have someone else to sit with! I had a lot of fun at the zoo ... it was a good day!
