Adventures with Chocolate!

Chocolate Goes the Grand Canyon

When my 'family' went to Arizona, we took some time to go see the Grand Canyon. 'Mom' said she had always wanted to see it. I can understand why - it was sooooo beautiful. Everyone should see it! I wish we could have taken the mule ride to the bottom - can you imagine me riding a mule? That would have been funny! We didn't have time, though. Maybe next time.

We really enjoyed our visit at the Grand Canyon. The weather was very strange, though. At our hotel, the temperature was 104 degrees. At the Grand Canyon, it was much cooler, and some very bad storms blew through. At one point, the temperature dropped into the 40s and it started to sleet! 'Mom' and 'Dad' did a lot of running to and from the car because they were dressed in shorts and Tshirts. BillyBob and I were warm in our fur coats, but we did try to stay out of the rain and sleet. I was amazed at how close the lightning is when you are in the mountains - 'Mom' did not find this as interesting as I did.

I am not in all of the pictures: the Grand Canyon is soooo big, it's difficult to see someone as small as I am. So, I am just sharing the view with you. It was beautiful!

Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
This is the Grand Canyon view from our first stop on the South Rim. It is so big, I can't imagine how long it would take to walk across. I think I would get very thirsty.

Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
Here are BillyBob and I sitting on the edge. It was a long way to the bottom, but it was so beautiful, I was not afraid. Too much.

Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
This rock was a much safer perch and you can see the Canyon behind us.
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
It was so beautiful! I don't remember what viewpoint this was, but the colors of the rocks were fascinating. I can only imagine how colorful it must be on a bright, clear day!
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
We found this really cool tree to sit in. I just loved these wild, old, twisted trees. It made a great place to sit and look out over the Canyon.
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
If it weren't for the coming storms, I think I could have sat here a very long time.
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
Isn't this beautiful? There was no place for us to sit to get in this photo, so just enjoy the view!
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
Here come the storms! The crazy weather made for some very dramatic photos. 'Dad' had fun taking pictures despite the rain, sleet and driving wind!
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
Just beautiful! What more can I say?
Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
We were very close to this storm. There was a lot of lightning and we just made it back to the car before it started to pour!

Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
It seemed like we could see forever! Every view in every direction was simply breathtaking. I'm so glad we got to see the Grand Canyon. BillyBob was hoping to see some wild cows there, but he didn't. 'Mom' said maybe there were some at the bottom, though. That cheered him up.

Chocolate at the Grand Canyon
'Dad' says the river in the bottom of the Canyon is what made the whole thing. Can you believe that? That tiny river waaay down there carved all these rocks! Wow!

I hope you enjoyed our visit to the Grand Canyon. We did - it was a really good day!
